how are the day and evening tours different
The Day Tour is a slightly more interactive experience because among the stops to different restaurants and neighborhoods, you visit a local market where you enjoy a fruit tasting and also get behind the bar at a cebicheria to make your own cocktail before getting hands-on with the cebiche.
The Evening Tour focuses more on cuisines from different regions of Peru and the distinct restaurant styles and culture throughout the Lima. This tour includes a brief hands-on Amazonian cebiche class, however, you start the tour with a cocktail demonstration where all the stirring and shaking is left to the professionals so you can enjoy the sunset by the sea.

To make it in time to join the Day Tour, for international arrivals, flights must arrive by 7:00 AM and for domestic arrivals by 7:45 AM. The tour ends around 2:30 PM and you can calculate approximately one hour to make it to the airport from the last stop on the tour.

how can i arrange a tour from the cruise ship port of callao
Due to security reasons, pickups directly from the port gates are not possible, therefore cruise ships offer free shuttles to a meeting point near the port area where our guide will meet you. As the port area is quite far from our normal pickup and operating area, there is an additional fee of $8 per person. We have a lot of experience working with different cruises and timetables to ensure sure you make it on time for the tour and back to the ship. Contact us for booking details: [email protected]
TOUR GROUPS
can i take the tour if i'm traveling alone
Absolutely! Single travelers are more than welcome on the tours. For the Evening Tour, we do require a minimum of two people to open a new group, however in general, the tour meets that minimum daily and travelers can join an existing group.
What is the minimum number of passengers
While there is no minimum requirement for the Day Tour, we do require a two-person minimum to open a new group for the Evening Tour. In general, this minimum is met and groups depart daily.
How many people will be on the tour
Groups on average are around 6-8 people, although the number of passengers on any given tour can vary. We like to keep our groups below 10 people. Of course, larger groups and special events are welcome and will be arranged separately.
can i book a private tour
Definitely. We offer private tours upon request. You can email us ([email protected]) or give us a call for more information: +51 (1) 415 8159.
do you accept large groups
We are happy to host larger groups and special events. Depending on the group size and requirements, we can also modify the activities to cater to the clients' needs. Contact us for more information: [email protected]
are the tours suitable for children
Children are more than welcome on the Day Tour. Furthermore, kids love the visit to the market and even participate in the ceviche lessons. We offer child rates for kids up to 8 years old. For the Evening Tour, younger visitors must be minimum 12 years of age as the experience is in a more mature setting. If you have additional questions, please contact us.
MENUS AND SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS
do you accomodate food allergies and special diets
Absolutely! Vegetarians, vegans, lactose-free, gluten-free guests and other special requests can be accommodated. We ask that you please notify us of any dietary restrictions at the time of booking as we cooridante all alternative menus in advance with our partnering restaurants.
Does the price include the food and drinks
Yes. Tours include hotel pickup and drop-off, a local expert, all food and drink in the program, entrance fees and tips at the restaurants. If you loved the culinary experience, tips for our guides are not included so feel free - they sure do appreciate it!
are tours suitable for me even if i don't drink alcohol
Yes. Peru has a variety of wonderful, non-alcoholic beverages that we can also offer you during the tours. The pisco sour portion of each tour only lasts about 15 minutes of the complete five-hour experience.
how safe are the food and water for visitors from abroad
Health standards in restaurants are generally upheld without exception in the parts of Lima where you are likely to visit, however, it is not advisable to purchase food from street vendors. Although many dishes they offer may be fine, there is no way to know, so it's better not to risk it. The tap water is not clean enough to drink without boiling first, so make sure you only drink bottled water while in Peru.
ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS
what is the dress code for the tours
The tours are generally casual and although the tours don't include a lot of walking, you'll want to make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes as there are a few parts with cobblestone streets and little strolls through the city. Some of the restaurants we visit are quite high-end and therefore it would be preferable to avoid running shoes if possible, but not a requirement. The overall dress code would be something akin to business casual, but as long as you're comfortable, we're happy to have you on the tours.
are there any discounts available
We do offer discounts for groups of six passengers or more. If you are a travel agency or are organizing a big group tour, please contact us for tailor-made solutions and special rates.
do you offer gift certificates
Absolutely! We are firm believers in the gift of an experience. If you would like to present a loved-one with a gift certificate, don't hesitate to reach out and we would be happy to help! Email us at [email protected] .
how can i check the reputation of your company
We are a legally licensed and operating company that has been ranked number one among all tours in Lima on Tripadvisor since 2012 having served over 20,000 clients. You can read unbiased client reviews via our Tripadvisor or Google listings. Regrettably, Peru does have a high number of informal organizations that are not licensed and they leave clients exposed in addition to failing to contribute to the growth and development of the country through taxes. Make sure your activity organizers are 100% legal before contracting services.
